Alabama’s Massage Therapy School: Sets NEW Standards:

Massage is an exciting, growing profession that integrates the personal values of integrity, compassion and service into earning a living. The challenge of working with a client’s specific needs as well as the immediate satisfaction of helping others makes this profession extremely rewarding. Massage is now recognized as an important part of the complementary health profession and is sought out by the medical and athletic communities as well as by the general public. Career opportunities include a variety of settings such as; private practice, hospital/pain clinics, athletic programs, health clubs, chiropractic offices, salons, spas and resorts.

Our Training Programs

Since our beginning in 1994, RMI has been dedicated to creating rich and challenging programs providing students with a sound foundation of knowledge and skills. Because our curriculum is holistically oriented, we are equally committed to providing an environment that allows for self-reflection and integration. Through this approach, we are able to graduate well-rounded, resourceful therapists.

We support and guide our students as they become aware of their own physical, emotional, and spiritual healing process. Students at RMI develop an awareness and wisdom that can be passed on to those they touch. Learning the healing arts can create an awakening of the mind, body and spirit, enriching one’s life experience forever.

The Alabama State Board of Education approves all of our Massage Therapy Certification programs and our graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam. RMI is a member of the AMTA Counsel of Schools.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Research shows that simple touch has a significant effect on the body: relieving pain, relaxing tense muscles, and calming frayed nerves. Appropriate touch can stimulate the body to release natural painkillers and decrease the amount of stress-producing hormones. These physiological reactions strengthen the immune system, calm the mind and body, therefore, helping in the prevention of illness and injury.
